Purpose of Meeting
Smiles & Steam is a youth-led nonprofit providing students with fun, educational, and engaging STEAM workshops. The meeting on February 7th will consist of a Valentine’s Day–themed hands-on workshop for students.
Planned activities include:
Building candy-heart catapults using popsicle sticks
Creating “love-bug” bristle bots
A simple surface tension demonstration using water
All activities are clean, non-destructive, and age-appropriate. No permanent materials or tools will be used. A small snack will be provided for participants. Participants will mostly consist of students grades 3-5 in the Ames Community School District.
