In June 2023, the city of Ames renamed its airport the James Herman Banning Ames Municipal Airport. Learn about Banning and other famous folks who called Ames home in the early days of aviation.

 

Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library, Discover Ames, and Ames Branch of the NAACP.
