Iowa State University Department of Music and Theatre is organizing it's first ever Fringe Festival featuring short performances at a variety of Ames locations, including Ames Public Library.

The EcoTheatre Lab will present a staged reading of the new play Resistance by Taylor Sklenar Saturday, April 29, at 2pm in the Library's Auditorium.

When a new herbicide is marketed that utilizes a novel chemical pathway, many farmers in this small Iowa town are relieved to have a new tool for combatting herbicide tolerant weeds. But Syd, an edgy organic farmer, fights back against the new chemical and the risks it poses to her operation and to her community.

This 90-minute reading will be followed by a brief talkback with the playwright.

Presented in partnership with Ames Public Library and Iowa State University Department of Music and Theatre.
