Program Description

Program Details

The Genealogy Proof Standard (GPS) is a tool, or standard, to measure the credibility of your conclusions about ancestral identities, relationships, and life events. For beginning and advanced genealogical researchers alike, this GPS course will enhance your research, give you insights for overlooked research, help resolve conflicts of evidence or relationships, and, finally, write soundly reasoned argument and conclusion.

This free 4-part course is taught by Alice Hoyt Veen, Certified Genealogist and Linda Greethouse, family researcher on March 16 and 30 and April 13 and 27. Registration is required.

Provided in partnership with Ames Public Library and Story County Genealogical Society and supported by Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.
