Topic -- American Kestrel Conservation

Speakers -- Mark Bowman & Mike Havlik

Join us for a presentation discussing four topics regarding American Kestrels: (1) their biology, (2) Dallas County Conservation Board’s conservation efforts, (3) the American Kestrel Partnership, and (4) the Genoscape Project (“Full Cycle Phenology”). Following the presentation, we will invite audience input about advancing conservation efforts for this species.

Mark A. Bowman earned a PhD within the Pathology Department of the University of Florida College of Medicine. He has spent time working in a hospital laboratory, serving as a teacher and professor, and now focuses on wildlife conservation after retirement. Mike Havlik is a passionate naturalist, gonzo birder, and amateur musician. He is currently employed by the Dallas County Conservation Board.
